A newly married woman has allegedly stabbed her husband after a heated argument.
Reports said that the woman (names withheld) stabbed him at about 11 pm that fateful day while he was asleep. He was immediately rushed to the Federal medical Centre (FMC) Owerri where he is currently receiving treatment.
Trouble started when the woman who got married to the man who hails from Avu in December, last year indicated interest in securing appointment with the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) where her husband is a security personnel.
The three-month-old couple, according to reports, began arrangements for the lady, an English language graduate, to acquire computer skills to enable her secure the job.
While the wife found a place where they charged N30,000 monthly, the husband allegedly sought and discovered where the computer training would cost N15,000 for the three months she was supposed to undergo the training.
The husband’s arrangement was said not to have gone down well with the wife who accused him of infidelity with the owner of the computer outfit.
The misunderstanding between the couple attracted the attention of the man’s elder brother who, after listening to both sides, felt it was flimpse and left it for husband and wife to resolve.
Apparently nursing grudges against the husband, the woman picked up a kitchen knife, said to be part of the wedding gift to her by her parents, and stabbed him three times on the chest while he was asleep.
Afraid that he was dead, the lady took to her heels, taking along her weapon of destruction, only to surface in the morning in the company of her father.
When Christian Voice visited the family of the victim, his uncle, Mr Martin Chike, said that they asked the father to take the woman away while they battled to save the life of their brother.
He said that no reports have been lodged with the police on the incidence.
