Archdeacon urges Christians to desist from immoral acts

The Archdeacon in-charge of Uratta North Archdeaconry, Venerable James Onyekwelibe has asked Christians to desist from sexual and other immoral acts in order not to destroy themselves before God.

Venerable Onyekwelibe gave this warning at St. Silas (Anglican) Church, Ama Wire, in Uratta North Archdeaconry, last Sunday during the dedication of the daughter of Rev. Chidiebere Mbilitam, the Priest in-charge of the church (St. Silas, Ama Wire).

The Archdeacon recounted the damages which sexual immorality and promiscuous life, could cause to humanity at all levels, including loss of respect, diseases (such as HIV/AIDs,) reduction of spiritual status before God, divorce or separation between husband and wife resulting from infidelity.

He regretted that such dirty actions which are done for self satisfaction has caused serious anger to God our Creator, and therefore, called for personal repentance among Christians, especially those who are the likes of Jezebel as recorded in 1st Kings Chapter 19 and 22.

Venerable Onyekwelibe traced part of these unwholesome and unfaithful acts, prevalent in the society today, to obnoxious cultures that encourage ex-marital relationships or affairs, arguing that the solution is for Christians at all levels to increase their faith and commitment to Jesus Christ.

He used the occasion to congratulate the Priest, Rev. Mbilitam and the congregation for their commitment and efforts towards building a befitting place of worship.
