St John’s Umuomumu gets new 7.5 KVA gen set

Christian have been advised to use their resources for the service of God as He is the owner of things.

This advise was handed down to the congregation of St. John’s (Ang) church Umuomumu Mbieri by their priest Rev Canon Steve Anukam while dedicating a new 7.5kva generating set donated to the church by sir Okechukwu and lady Ruphina Duru.

Can. Anukam was overwhelmed at the goesture as he poured encomium on the donor and counselled. Other good spirited individuals in the area to emulate the couple by providing other infrastructure, lacking in the church as part of their stewardship to God.

He added that God works in the vine-yard of those who do the  same in His.

In his remarks, Sir Duru stated that he was prompted to donate the generating set to avert frequent disruption of church services by power outage from either PHCN or the church’s old generating set which he notices any time he worships at home.

He then enjoined other philanthropists to identify with their home churches by providing them with needed infrastructure, hence the biblical injunction, “it is good to give than to receive”.

Expressing his joy, the band leader, Mr. Uche Ezemadu, stated that the donation was the handiwork of God, assuring that they will handle the equipment carefully.
