Army Chief warns troublemakers in Imo

Those who have constituted themselves into stumbling blocks to the development strides of Gov. Rochas Okorocha ofImoStatehave been warned to turn a new leaf.

Handing down the warning at the weekend in Owerri, the Brigade Commander, 34 Artillary Brigade Obinze, Brig. Gen Ahmed Akali, said that these people disrupt developmental projects in the name of looking for compensation.

Brig. Gen Akali who was speaking to newsmen after an executive council meeting at the Governor’s Lodge stressed that the security agents will not close their eyes while some people violate the law in the state.

The commander said that the security agents are for peace and advised the people to channel their grievances through due process rather than breaching the peace.

According to him, such unnecessary challenges of constituted authorities would not be toleratd.

He told the newsman that the N1million reward promised to informants have begun to yield fruits as some arrests have been made as a result of information on kidnappers.

He said that the two informants were given N1million each while N50,000 was given to a university student who turned over his pistol, stressing that the identify of these people would remain hidden.

He, therefore, called on all well meaning citizen of the state to always volunteer information on criminals.
