The Anglican Diocese of Oru has announced out the venues for the annual Diocesan Synod and the Women’s conference for the next five years.
According to the schedule announced by the Bishop, Rt Rev. G.N. Chukwunenye, PhD during his presidential address at the last Synod held at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Nempi, the 2013 edition will be hosted by Otulu Archdeaconry, 2014 by Ubulu Archdeaconry while the 2017 synod will be hosted by Awo Omama Archdeaconry.
In the same token, the Women’s conference for 2013 will be hosted by Ubulu Archdeaconry 2014 by Awo Omama Archdeaconry, 2015 by Nempi Archdeaconry as Otulu Archdeaconry will take care of 2016 conference with Onuma Archdeaconry playing host to the Oru Christian mothers in 2017.
Explaining the reason for the long notice, the bishop observed that the synods and the women conference have been hampered by inadequate preparations done at the last minute, culminating into inadequate mobilization, for the occasions.
He further explained that the hosting arrangements have been done on Archdeaconry basis “because we do not have large parishes”.
Rt. Rev. Chukwunenye announced that the forth-coming fifth anniversary of the Diocese will be celebrated in a grand style and charged the synod to immediately set up the planning committee for early preparation.
