Determined to fight crime to a stand still, the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has embarked on the retraining of officials of vigilante groups now known as Imo Security Network Operation Rescue.
Gov. Okorocha who disclosed this while addressing the officials in Owerri recently said that the retraining was to enable them to discharge their duties more effectively.
He said that the state government has engaged a team of professionals from theUnited States of Americafor the programme.
The governor hoped that it would go a long way to equip the officials in tackling crime and kidnappings in various communities of the state so that Imo people can go about their businesses without fear.
Participants would receive certificates after the course.
According to the governor, the state government has provided necessary logistics needed for the exercise. He urged participants to conduct themselves well during the exercise and challenged officers in charge to leave no stone unturned.
