Ven Nwozuzu counsels Christians on Pentecost

People of God have been urged to believe in Christ Jesus in order to have the Holy Ghost in them to direct and control their lives.

The Administrator of the Cathedral Church of the Transfiguration of Our Lord, (CATOL), Owerri, Venerable Paul Nwozuzu, gave this injunction while preaching at a special service held at the Cathedral last Sunday to commemorate the Pentecost Sunday, observed in Christendom that day.

Venerable Nwozuzu who captioned his sermon; “In the Day of God’s Power” affirmed that there is nothing the Holy Ghost cannot do for Christians if they can submit themselves to Him, and properly manage Him, stressing that they would not only receive His power but also be sanctified and given the grace to overcome hopeless situations or situations of enemity, and absence of love and peace.

According to the Administrator, men and women who would serve with Jesus must do so with holiness, not as worldly and unrighteously as their human counterparts.

The Clergyman posited that, one born of the Spirit is like the wind which, according to him, blows where it wishes and opens the eyes of a believer as well as reveals to him or her things that are possible and also within human reach and control.

To receive the Holy Ghost, he pointed out, entails that one must, first of all, repent and receive forgiveness.

Venerable Nwozuzu described as loathsome and worrisome, a situation where churches spend more time and money to beautify and equip the churches with musical instruments and various decorating materials for personal interests, without actually having the Holy Ghost at the centre.

The highlight of the service was the presentation and dedication of the Cathedral’s re-branded Boys Brigade which hitherto had been in a limbo for some years.
