The leader of Christians in Imo State has blamed the federal government for not doing enough to bring Boko Haram and its sponsors to book.
In an exclusive interview, the Imo State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Cosmas Ilechukwu asserted that the objective of the sect is to exterminate Nigerian Christians in order to islamise the country.
He observed that the terrorist sect is taking advantage of the disposition of Christians not to carry arms or revenge against their traducers but associated himself with the view of CAN President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor that Christians would fight back “if they were pushed to the wall”.
Pastor Ilechukwu then warned; “I think that time is almost here”.
Accusing President Jonathan of lacking the spine to fight Boko Haram, he recalled the decisive action taken by his predecessors against uprisings in Odi and Vandekiya which he said settled the matter once-and-for-all.
Condemning any suggestion for dialogue with Boko Haram, he described them as enemies of Nigeria and criminals, adding that no reasonable person dialogues with criminals.
“You can as well dialogue with kidnappers and armed robbers”, he fumed.
