Through prayers, it was revealed to the Onyeagocha family that death was lurking around the corner.
And so tragically did it happen as the family lost two of its members in last Sunday’s Dana Air crash at Iju-Ishaga Lagos.
“There were some revelations and we prayed and fasted against it,” Mrs Dora Dike, an elder sister in the family told Christian Voice when our reporter called on her over the incident.
Mrs Dike, a Permanent Secretary at the Imo State House of Assembly, however, resigned to fate, believing that God was preparing the family to accept it through the revelation.
Her sister-in-law, Lady Ogechi Onyeagocha, and her only daughter who was 11 years old, Chimdinma, died in the crash.
According to the permanent secretary, the victim who, until her death, was the Deputy Director Finance, in Shippers’ Council was highly spiritual and was liberal.
In an emotion-laden voice, Mrs Dike described the victim as “a woman of God” who paid the school fees of many indigent students as well as helped those she was in a position to help.
On her relationship with the family, Mrs Dike said that the late Ogechi maintained an exceptional relationship with her mother-in-law.
“The death was a big blow to the family”, she said.
Late Lady Ogechi Onyeagocha was married to Sir Dennis Onyeagocha, a Director at the Federal Ministry of Health.
