Six Commissioners have been dropped from the cabinet of Imo State government in a recent reshuffle and the names of six commissioners-designate submitted to the Imo State House of Assembly for screening and approval.
Among those dropped are Dr Obinna Duruji (Information), Hon Ogueri Enwerem (Commerce and Industry), Hon. Chioma Ogoke (Housing and Urban Development), Hon. Ejike Uche (Public Utilities and Rural Development), Engr Alex Ogwazuo (Culture and Tourism) and Hon. Ann Dozie (Women Affairs and Social Development).
The Commissioners-designate are Mr Chinedu Offor, Ichie Mbanaso, Prof Chima Iwuchukwu, Barr. Emma Eweremba, Prof Charles Onuoha and Barr. Mrs Nnanna Ugochi Okorocha.
Announcing the changes, the Chief of Staff to the governor, Prince Eze Madumere clarified that they were made after appraising the administration’s first year in office in order to bring in new hands with new ideas aimed at achieving government’s set goals and objectives.
He emphasized that the changes were not for lack of performance and on behalf of the governor, wished the former commissioners well in their new endeavours.
