Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has expressed worry that much of the food consumed in these parts are produced in the northern part of the country.
Addressing law makers at the Imo State House of Assembly to mark the first anniversary of the House, he disclosed that the motivation for the Community Government Council (CGC) is to ensue mass production of food in the State.
Stressing that the policy thrust of his administration is aimed a thet well-being of the citizens, he appealed to the House to support and promote his administration’s policies and programmes emphasizing that government would establish agro-industries to create job opportunities as he urged the people to go back to land for massive food production.
Governor Okorocha was full of appreciation for the passage by the House of the four-year capital development budget for infrastructural development in the state adding that without the co-operation of the state legislature, that his government could not have made the strides it has made.
The governor advised the legislators to focus on issues bordering on human rights and protection of citizens’ property asserting there can be no democracy without the people.
