Tough-talking Anglican Bishop of Enugu, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Chukwuma, has warned that he would cause the re-enactment of the Biafran massive killer bomb known as “Ogbunigwe” if the threat of Boko Haram persists.
Bishop Chukwuma who was reacting to Sunday’s bombing of Christ Chosen Church, Jos, in Plateau State, and another in Biu, Borno State, said that Christians in the South were ready to go to war to defend their brothers in the north.
The prelate who is the South East Zonal Chairman of he Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) called on the Federal Government and Islamic leaders in the north to find a solution to incessant attacks on churches, reminding the Muslims that they are also building mosques in the South and have Moslem communities around.
The Bishop, in his reaction which sounded as a final warning to the Boko Haram terrorists, vowed that no one can ever Islamize the entire nation, saying that Christians will resist such moves.
“We are moved to give this last warning to the Federal Government and Moslem leaders to issue a check and warning to their subordinates because if this should continue, we, as Christians will have no option than to begin retaliation on their mosques and Emirs’ palaces”, he said.
He said that Christians cannot fold their hands and allow churches attacked and worshippers maimed for no just cause.
The bishop said that Christians had expected security agencies to stem the situation but with the look of things, the Boko Haram menace was not abating.
He said that if the MASSOB, OPC and MEND are mobilized, “Boko Haram will have no place to go to.”
