The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Imo State Council has expressed deep grief over the tragic and most saddening deaths of Professor Celestine Onwuliri, Dr. Levi Ajonuma and the Ibes who died in the DANA Aircrash of June 3, in Lagos.
In a press release in Owerri signed by the chairman, Sir Innocent Igwe, the union described Prof. Onwuliri as a consistent friend of Journalists and indeed one of the most media-friendly personalities of our time whose impeccable personality and legendary achievements in various fields are rare.
Dr. Levi Ajonuma, the release said, cut his teeth in the media from where he built the enormous capacity with which he shut the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to the greatest height of Nigeria’s corporate world.
“NUJ Imo State Council mourns these International personalities and the Ibes who were equally contributing immensely to the development of the State before their lives were cut short in the regrettable plane crash,” the statement said.
The statement prayed the Almighty God to grant them eternal rest and grant their families the courage to bear the huge losses.
