Orsu lawmaker sues for peace By Ebere Osuka

The member representing Orsu in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Stan Dara, has called for peace in his constituency.

The legislator was reacting to protesters who stormed the Assembly Complex, New Owerri, recently to complain that there is no development going on in Orus.

Hon Dara described the claim as fallacy and advised the people to resolve whatever issues they have in their area.

He stressed that projects are on-going in his constituency, listing a 20km road which he attracted as one of them.

The lawmaker, however, asked those protesting to apply due process in registering their grievances, adding that violence does not pay more than being law abiding.

He said that Eze Festus Odimegwu has done well for Orsu and Imo in general and that he should not be dragged into the rift.

The Transition Chairman, Hon Stella Odimegwu, he said, should not be distracted from carrying out her duty.

Hon Dara appealed to the State government to appoint an Orsu indigene as a commissioner in the state executive.
