South East Forum strategizes for Igbo Presidency in 2015

To strategise for the election of Nigerian President of South-East extraction in 2015 general election, a body known as South East Forum (SEF) has set up a 21-man committee headed by Prof. Ven Chinedu Nebo, former Vice Chancellor of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, to work out the modalities to be presented to the general Assembly at a meeting in Enugu October, 25, 2012.

In a communiqué after a meeting in Enugu recently, SEF reiterated its commitment to harmonize the zone to speak with one voice in the build up to the 2015 general election.

The body  observed that South East is the only zone that has not produced the President of Nigeria  and that the zone is eager for the position come 2015 adding that to achieve the objective counterparts from other geo-political zones in the country would be consulted.

The forum also demand the immediate carving out of more states from the zone.

On the disastrous Dana Air crash, South East Forum called on government to publish the report of the probe in four weeks and to also publish the findings of previous plane crashes and the punishment meted out to the culprits.
