Diocese of Oru plants new church

Christians have been advised to be patient in life and to wait for God’s proposed moment for them to blossom in their areas of endeavour.

The Bishop of the Diocese of Oru, the Right Reverend Geoffrey Chukwunenye, (PhD, gave the charge at the inaugural church service of the Anglican Church of The Holy Spirit, Ohuba, Awo-Omamma planted by Holy Trinity Church, Obibi, Awo-Omamma in Oru East Local Government Area, Imo State.

Preaching on the theme: “There is God’s season for every man” taken from Genesis 40:20-23 and 41: 9-16, the Right Reverend Chukwunenye recalled that Joseph was remembered and his case reviewed after many years of incarceration.

He explained that even before King Pharaoh, Joseph declined to arrogate power to himself and invited God to take pre-eminence in his ability to interpret dreams.

The prelate commended the Anglican faithful in Ohuba for their sacrifice in the work of evangelism and prayed for them to remain committed in the belief that the mustard seed they planted in the new church would flourish at God’s own appointed time.

He also blessed the Holy Trinity Church, Obibi Parish for planting the new church and enjoined them to continue to nurture it to maturity.

Speaking after the inaugural service, the vicar of Holy Trinity, Obibi, the Reverend Forth Edward expressed gratitude to God that the dream had come true.

The Rev. Edward commended the PCC of Holy Trinity Church and the entire congregation for their support and promised that they would sustain the new church.
