The Anglican Bishop of Oru, the Rt. Rev Chukwunenye, PhD, has said that only God can deliver Nigerian from its present numerous problems.
The Bishop, therefore, urged Christians to justify their trust in God by being dedicated to His service.
Rt. Rev. Chukwunenye was speaking while inaugurating the New Bethel Anglican Church, Umuhu, Omuma in Oru East local Government Area of Imo State.
He charged the Federal Government to prove its sincerity to fight corruption by prosecuting suspects of the fuel subsidy scandal.
Taking his text from Daniel 3:14-30, Dr Chukwunenye challenged the faithful of the New Bethel Church, Umuhu, Omuma to decide to do away with the ‘gods of Nebuchanezzar and join faith with Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego to worship Jehovah God even when it appears His deliverance comes slowly.
He commended Saint Thomas Anglican Church, Omuma Parish for planting the new Church and encouraged it nurture it to maturity.
Bishop Chukwunenye also launched the GAMA Ministries at the Cathedral Church of Emmanuel, Mgbidi.
The GAMA Ministries is floated by the Reverend Canon Ephraim Igboasoiyi (rtd) to restore the faith of the backslidden brethren and provide succour for the fainted and the discouraged with an assurance that God still loves them.
Bishop Chukwunenye urged Reverend Canon Igboasoiyi to work in harmony with the Anglican Church to take the gospel to the broken -hearted.
The Reverend Canon Igboasoiyi said the GAMA Ministries would also care for retired priests and arouse consciousness on the second coming of Christ among Christians.
The highlight of the occasion was the launching of a book “Waiting on the Lord” written by Reverend Ephraim Igboasoiyi.
