Igbo community in Ogun State under the aegis of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has commended the state government’s drive to boost the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
The President-General of the group in the state. Chief Austin Azuka Nkeze who spoke with journalists in Abeokuta, the state capital charged residents to pay their taxes and levies promptly.
While expressing readiness to support the Senator Ibikunle Amosun-led administration in his quest for better governance, Nkeze said the group would also encourage others to do same.
Nkeze who spoke with journalists shortly after taking the Oath of office as the new President of the body said: “”We will pay tax, it is our civic responsibilities to make sure we pay tax. Most of us have complied and we are going to ask others to comply.
He adds: “There is nothing bad in paying tax, without tax government will not execute most of their responsibilities.
