FRSC counsels drivers

Public enlightenment programme to educate motorists on the dangers of driving during the raining season with malfunctional devices.

This was sequel to the order by the Sector Commander Halilu Baba Halilu Monday to his officers and men during their regular parade.

He said that during the rains, the road surface becomes wet and slippery and as such the motorists must put on their wipers, reduce speed, put on their headlights, their lights in order to see and be seen, leave their parking lights on and ensure that their demister is functional.

The Sector Commander also warned the motorists not to endanger the lives of their passengers during the rain by using vehicles with malfunctioning safety devices.

He equally advised both drivers and passengers to call on FRSC toll free line 122 any time they meet traffic crash on the highway for quick response by the men of FRSC.

He also stressed the need for drivers to always pull off the road and allow the rain to subside in the event of poor visibility which could not be managed.

Commander Halilu  advised the motorists to check their vehicles to ensure that they are in good condition for the road before setting out during this season and most importantly avoid night journeys.
