The member representing Njaba in the Imo State House of Assembly; Hon. Obioha Kevin Chino, has enjoined women to use the August meeting as a time of restoring peace and unity in the families, churches and society.
He made the call at his country home while addressing members of executive of women from different autonomous communities and wards in his constituency.
The law maker observed that many communities have used the period to not only execute landmark projects but also ensured peaceful co-existence by resolving their differences.
The legislature called on the women to support the programmes of the State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, whom he said is out to ensure the welfare of the people of the state without party affiliation.
Hon. Obioha who maintained that the Governor is determined to turn the state around for the better hinted that apart from modern primary schools to be built in all recognized autonomous communities, other things in the priority list of the governor the completion of the rural roads construction, building of Housing Units in all Local Governments and agricultural settlements among others things.
The legislature advised the women to give support to the staff posted to their communities for the community government as it will facilitate rural development and bring government to the grassroot.
Responding, Mrs Benadette Ekeocha from Nkume and Bernardene Epuechi from Egwedu thanked the legislator for the meeting and pledged the loyalty of the women to the state government.
