Prelate pleads for manufacturers

The   Bishop   of  the   Diocese   of  Oru,   the   Right   Rev.   Geoffrey Chukwunyenye, PhD has called on Consumer Protection Council of Nigeria to protect the patent right of genuine manufacturers in the country.

The Rt.  Rev.  Chukwunenye who was a guest preacher at the St Michael’s Church, Coker village, Lagos urged the CPC to step up its operation to rid the Nigerian Market of fake and substandard goods.

The Special service was a prelude to the 2012 Business Exhibition organized by the church for its members.

Bishop Chukwunenye who regretted that the unsuspecting consumer in this country had consistently fallen victim to the antics of many dubious businessmen and women said the right of the individual to enjoy the full value of the money spent on goods and services should no longer be compromised.

Dwelling on the theme: Principles of business success” with texts taken from Proverbs 22: 29 and Psalm 1: 1-31, Dr. Chukwunenye condemned the attitude of some business operatives who capitalize on the ignorance of the consumer to cheat on them.

The prelate said Nigeria’s huge economic potentials had not been fully exploited and encouraged Nigerians to be transparent in their business dealing with others.

He commended St Michael’s Church, Coker Village, Lagos for taking  a deep interest in the economic activities of its members and called for its sustenance.

Some of the parishioners who participated in the exhibition this year confessed that it was unique and that they were now better equipped to adopt a decent approach in their businesses.
