HTC Obazu Women end August Meeting

A three-day annual conference (August Meeting 2012) of the Home/Abroad Women Association of Holy Trinity (Ang) Church Obazu, Mbieri in Mbaitoli local government of Imo State ended recently at the Church with the women calling for a halt to the proliferation of churches.

In a five-point resolution, the women also urged members to stop running from church to church in the name of receiving prayers, be submissive to their husbands and help train their children.

The women compared the themes of the August meeting as propounded by the President of Owerri Diocesan Women’s Ministries, Dr (Mrs Eunice Okorocha (Spiritual Transformation) and that by the Imo State First Lady, Nneoma (Women: Vessels for Transformation) for this year’s August Meeting in Imo State and concluded that both had the same focus “to sanitise the Society”.

In the communiqué, the association highly commended the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, for his free education programme, massive road construction state-wide including other projects as well as his concern for retirees hence they urged all and sundry to assist the governor “to make Imo better”.

The women proceeded to reel out their accomplishments among them embarking on a standard church hall project, roofing of the new church building, with long span roofing sheets, fencing of the entire church compound, granting of interest-free (no wahala) loans worth N10,00 each to over 60 members as well as annual donation of N120,000 for the new church building.

Earlier in her address written and delivered in impeaceable Igbo, the President of the association, Mrs M.N. Ehirim who dwelt on the theme of the conference for Holy Trinity, Church, “Thy will be done”, reminded the women of the assignments facing members this year consisting of hosting of the Owerri Diocesan Synod and the H.T.C centenary celebration.

She urged the women to be prepared to play the genial hosts to their guests and to keep their environments neat.
