Rep launches poverty alleviation scheme in Mbaitoli

The member representing Mbaitoli/ Ikeduru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on National Planning and Economic Development, and President of the Pan-African Parliament Hon. Bethel Amadi has launched a laudable economic empowerment and poverty alleviation programme in his federal constituency.

Speaking to  his constituents last Sunday, Hon. Bethel Amadi stated that his Economic Empowerment and Poverty Alleviation Programme is intended to train the beneficiaries to acquire skills, provide them with funds to set up and operate their own businesses. The first phase of the programme resulted in the empowerment of 24constituents selected from each of the 24 wards in the federal constituency selected through an open ballot system. He further used the occasion to lay the framework for the future phases of this economic empowerment programme which he pledged to extend to various segments of his constituency.

Hon.  Amadi called on his constituents to remain resolute in their support for President Goodluck Jonathan and then urged them to help to ensure the continued peace, unity and progress of Nigeria by throwing their full support to the efforts of President Jonathan’s administration to develop Nigeria. He thanked the gathering which included the leadership and members of his Campaign Organization for supporting him all through the 2011 electioneering campaigns and then implored them to champion the principles reflected in the President’s transformation agenda and the vision 20/2020 project.
