Group urges Ndigbo to fight for Presidency

A group, Ndigbo Unity Forum (NUF) has called on all stake-holders in the South east including governors, politicians and political groups to put their group and personal interests aside in order to speak with one voice for the election of an Igbo as President of Nigeria in 2015.

In a statement by the leader, Augustine Chukwudum and Ugochukwu Obinka, the group saw the actualization of Igbo presidency as an issue that should occupy every Igbo man’s attention till it is achieved.

They submitted that there would be no equity in political opportunities in Nigeria until a president of Nigeria of Igbo extraction emerged.

The body lamented the injustice being meted out against Ndigbo since after the civil war which it said claimed over three million lives, alleging that the federal government had not in practical terms, demonstrated that the war was over.

The forum contended that with the election  of Goodluck Jonathan as president that the south south has been compensated and urged Ndigbo to work hard for the materialization of an Igbo president for Nigeria.
