The Imo State government has concluded plans for the take-off of emergency Rapid Response Scheme to reduce crime in the state.
Governor Rochas Okorocha disclosed this to the new State Police Commissioner for Imo, Mr. B.A. Bolanta, who paid him a courtesy visit in Government House, Owerri, last week.
The governor fingered both kidnapping and pipe-line vandalisation as among the major security challenges facing the state and urged the police boss to galvanise his officers and men to ensure peace in the state, especially these “ember months”.
He assured of the state government’s assistance in updating the command’s communication gadgets as well as the completion of the fencing and road projects on-going at the police barracks following the CP’s earlier request.
Mr Bolanta also commended the governor for his developmental strides and support to the police command.
