Imo FRSC warns on plate numbers

The Imo State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned motorists against use of unauthorised plate numbers and proceeded to list six of them.

They include car plate numbers defaced with aesthetics which obscure visibility, tokumbo vehicles with foreign plate numbers and vehicles carrying single plate either in front or at the rear especially taxis and vehicles belonging to private and corporate organisations.

The other plate numbers frowned at by FRSC are those vehicles which plate numbers have been confiscated illegally by some law enforcement agents but which the owners still drive about without identification, attempts to convert private vehicles to commercial by painting their number with red colour and continued use of broken and squeezed plate numbers.

FRSC boss in Imo State, H.B. Halilu then appealed to motorists to always conspicuously display their vehicle plate numbers in front and rear and also not to mutilate their number plates as he sternly warned that any one flouting these regulations would be sanctioned accordingly.
