The First Session of the 19th Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Owerri comes to a close today with a special thanksgiving service at the venue, Holy Trinity (Ang) Church, Obazu Mbieri, in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.
The four-day event with the theme; “The Gospel of Our Salvation: What is it and how is it”, kicked off last Thursday with over 1,000 delegates participating, apart from the invitees and resource persons.
One of the highlights of the Synod was the presentation of the presidential address yesterday, Saturday October 6, by Bishop C.C. Okorocha, PhD in which the prelate dealt on sundry critical issues with characteristic intellectual aplomb.
Among the high points of the closing ceremony today is the launching for funds for the Bishop’s Foundation for Mission and Developemnt (BFMD) and a special thanksgiving by delegates and knights.
In one of his Episcopal prerogatives, the bishop will also announce the venue and the host Archdeaconry for the next Synod in 2013.
