The Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, has said that the children of the state are source of inspiration to him, to give the people of the state the desired dividends of democracy.
Owelle Rochas Okorocha state this at the children’s park during a 50th birthday ceremony organized for him by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, also said that the children of Imo state are the future
leaders of our nation, their importance he said cannot be over emphasized.
Owelle Okorocha admonished the children not to look back at their poor background, rather they should read hard and change their present positions in life so that they can become useful children, sons and
daughters of the state because the future hopes on them for prosperity.
Governor Okorocha used the opportunity to inform the children and parents present at the occasion that the school uniforms, school desks and table for Imo pupils are ready and would be distributed soon. He further explained that since the children have been officially adopted by the government, they would not pay any form of schools fees from primary, secondary to university levels in the state.
Owelle Rochas Okorocha applauded the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for marking his 50th birthday with the children of the state and used the opportunity to inform the Imolites that all his over 6,000 children in his schools in Nigeria will be visiting Imo state and urged the Imolites to join him in receiving them, and urged ministries in the state to emulate the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Adding her voice also, the wife of Imo state Governor, Her Excellency Nkechi Okorocha, thanked all present for attending the 50th birthday ceremony of her husband and applauded Imo children and their wonder exhibitions during the ceremony.
In her speech earlier, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Lady Barr. Ugochi Nnanna Okoro, thanked governor Okorocha for his presence at the birthday party organized for him, and expressed happiness over Gov. Okorocha’s untiring efforts in giving Imo children a sense of belonging, and thanked His Excellency for constructing the part for Imo children.
