The second All Clergy Conference of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, ended at Oyo, capital of Oyo State, recently, with participants taking far- reaching decisions on the challenges of Islam to the Christian faith, among others.
The conference with the theme, “contending for the faith,” was attended by more than 7,000 clergymen including bishops and archbishops.
Participants at the conference, which was held it Ajai Crowther University, Oyo, prayed for the country which is facing travails including the Boko Haram menace, kidnapping, armed robbery and flooding which has rendered many homeless.
Other issues examined were the challenges of acculturation in contending for the faith and the clergymen as a faith contender in the face of economic and social pressures.
The clergymen called for more regular meetings to ensure that decisions and resolutions are implemented.
Thirteen priests represented the Owerri Diocese.
