Gov directs police to rein in bandits in Imo State By Chinasa Ogbonna

Governor Anayo Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has ordered the police and other security agencies to close nude clubs in the state as part of efforts to rein in criminals operating in Imo.

Addressing newsmen shortly after a security meeting at the Government House Owerri, the governor directed also that all kidnappers’ dens should be demolished.

Okorocha who was worried at the high rate of immorality in the state, spoke against child trafficking and other nefarious activities.

He, however, commended the security agencies for rescuing a five-year-old child who was kidnapped in Isiala Mbano for rituals and was found in Zamfara.

Also speaking, the State’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adisa Bolanta, decried the murder of a traditional ruler in Umueze Abazu Ogwa in Mbaitoli Local Government Area and said that three persons have been arrested and are on trial for the crime.

He assured Imo people of the commitment of the police in checking crime and called for their help in providing  information.
