Students honour NULGE Chairman By Gid Ahanonu

Mbaitoli students in the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) have honoured the Chairman of Nigeria Association of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Mbaitoli Chapter, Comrade Uzoma Ekeanyanwu with a distinguished award.

Leader of the National Association of Mbaitoli Students Union in FUTO, Comrade Chukwudi Obi said the award was its recognition  of the NULGE chairmen’s contributions to welfare and development in Mbaitoli, such as procurement of a car and an 18-seater bus for chairman’s office and staff, respectively, a megaphone for monthly prayer summit and provision of sporting facilities for staff in the council.

At the ceremony, the union also praised Comrade Ekeanyanwu for his charity work through his NGO, Global Mandate Foundation.

Adding his voice, the NULGE chairman’s aide, Comrade Chidi Akim, lauded the chairman as well as the State president of NULGE, Chief Sir Ambrose Onuoha, for “putting Mbaitoli on the right track.

Accepting the award, Comrade Ekeanyanwu urged the student to be good ambassadors of Mbaitoli by shunning cultism, exam malpractice and other anti-social behaviours.

He dedicated the award to staff of Mbaitoli Local Government council, saying that he could not have recorded the success without their cooperation.
