The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) plans to bring the warring members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to a roundtable conference aimed at restoring peace in the party.
Bishop Emmanuel Chukwuma, South East CAN’s chairman who dropped the hint in Enugu while speaking to journalists said the “APGA conflict is of no good to us as a people; we are concerned as a church, we are concerned as Igbos and we are calling all of them to please come together.
According to the prelate “APGA was formed by the Igbo race through the leadership of the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and we feel very sad that after his demise the division and conflict now is becoming unbearable”.
He pleaded with the factional leaders to sheate the sword and stop exposing themselves and the party.
“We cannot allow this to continue and we feel it is a serious division for Ndigbo, so the people involved should please cease fire.”
