Prepare for God’s second coming -Bishop tells Christians

The Bishop of the Diocese of Oru, The Right Reverend Geoffrey Chukwunenye PhD, JP, has spoken of the need for Christians to prepare themselves for the imminent coming of Jesus Christ.

The Right Rev Chukwunenye who preached at the confirmation service of St Stephen’s Anglican Church, Otulu in Oru- West LGA regretted that the crime rate in society today has escalated beyond proportion and wondered whether people of this age and time still desire to make heaven.

Bishop Chukwunenye warned fraudsters who use the Christmas period to perpetrate evil to repent and follow Christ pointing out that the kingdom of God is open to welcome everyone and cannot be saturated even if all repented and confessed Christ.

Dr Chukwunenye urged Christians not to be distracted by the prevalent wave of security challenges in the country stressing that Christians were commissioned to propagate the gospel of the Christendom and the second coming of Jesus Christ to all parts of the World.

The Prelate charged the newly confirmed to be committed to the work of evangelism in the Diocese and prayed God to grant them grace and strength to distinguish themselves in the things of God.

He advised them to take their studies seriously and not to be involved in

crime.

Eucharistic service which was attended by many relations including

grand parents, friends and well wishers of the newly-confirmed was

conducted by the administrator of Otulu Archdeaconry, the Rev Chinedu

Okeke.

Speaking during the reception, the Rt Rev Chukwunenye commended the parishioners of St Stephens Otulu for their effort to upgrade the facilities of

the church.

The PCC of St Stephens Otulu thanked the Bishop and his wife for the

pastoral visit.
