Embrace Owelle’s politics of development -GLO advises Obazu people From our reporter

The people of Obazu- Mbieri autonomous community have been advised to embrace the politics of development which Governor Rochas Okorocha is championing rather than politics of political parties.

The Government Liason Officer, GLO of the community, Mr Iheanyi Abaekwume who gave the advice while addressing Obazu stakeholders in his Umueze family home said the community government which is the brain child of Owelle Rochas Okorocha, is a vision that will transform the rural areas of the state and provide enabling environment for peaceful-co-existence and progress in Imo State.

He described the people of Obazu as highly educated, focused and friendly, adding that with the CGS government in place Obazu will witness a new era of unprecedented growth and development.

He was happy with the turn out of people at the brief ceremony and promised the stakeholders that with God on his side the job given to him would be creditably discharged.

He appealed to Obazu people to continue to support the administration of Governor Rochas Okorocha, promising that they would be carried along in the scheme of things.

Speaking also, the representative of the CGC chairman, High Chief Fidelis Arisiukwu, commended the Rochas administration for appointing many sons and daughters of Obazu into government.

He assured the governor of the continued support of Obazu people to his government.

He announced that Obazu people will soon receive the GLO officially at a date to be made public soon.

In his remarks the CLO, Chief Kingsley Asinobi thanked the government for appointing them and promised not to let Obazu people down.  He informed the stakeholders that one of the illustrious sons of Obazu and the mayor of the town had wished to be at the meeting but could not owing to exigencies of duty.

The mayor, Sir Dr Onyewuchi Asinobi he hinted “is in full support of what you are doing here today”.  Others who spoke on the occasion stressed the need for government to give the people of Obazu an all season road.  They commended FERMA for the maintenance work they are carrying out on the road but called for a more durable road for Obazu.

In his vote of thanks, the father of the GLO, and veteran journalist, Chief Geoffrey Abaekwume thanked Obazu people for their support to his son and promised that with the cooperation of everybody the GGC government will succeed in Obazu.
