Bishop lauds Golden Jubilee couple By Nick Chibunna

Bishop Emmanuel Maduwike of Ikeduru has eulogized Mr & Mrs Godson Onyemmnadoegbulam  Ibezim for living in peace and loving one another through 50 years of marriage.

Delivering a homily at the service to mark the couple’s 50th wedding anniversary at

St. Thomas (Ang) Church Ogada Atta recently, Bishop Maduwike thanked God for the gift of children to the couple as well as their training, education, guidance and sustenance.

He enjoined the couple to always have faith in God, saying that every other promise might fail, but God’s promise will never fail.

Taking his text from Ps. 107:1, entitled “Remembering God’s Goodness”, the prelate said it is always good to thank God for His goodness and congratulated the couple for their steadfastness and faith in God for 50 years.

The high point of the event which attracted personalities from all walks of life, including the couple’s children living abroad, was the renewal of marriage vow before the bishop.

The service was conducted by Rev. Emmanuel Ndimele of St. Jude’s Anglican Church, Atta.  The only lesson was read by Mrs Justina Ukachi Ibezim, the golden mother.

Two choir groups were in attendance.  They were St. Paul’s Cathedral Church, Nsukka and St. Jude’s (Ang) Church,  Atta.

Many priests were also in attendance, including Ven . Josiah Emeribe, Archdeacon of Inyisi Archdeaconry,  Rev. Can. Joe Nwachukwu, Administrator, Owu-Amakohia Area and Ven. Ephraim Onwubuariri (rtd).
