All is set for the 2nd Session of the 2nd Synod of the Diocese of Okigwe which kicks off Thursday, May 30, at the Cathedral Church of St. Barnabas, Okigwe, Imo State.
A release from the Diocesan Synod Planning Committee stated that the theme of the Synod is “Stewardship of giving, His Blessings, Opportunities and Challenges (Gen. 22: 1-18, 1-2 Cor. 9: 6 – 9).
According to the release, Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev. Edward Osuegbu, PhD, would give his charge on Saturday, June 1, while Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, is expected to deliver the Synod opening address as the chief guest of honour.
Also expected at the synod is the Governor of Akwa Ibom, Chief Godswill Akpabio who will give the keynote address.
The Synod will be rounded off on Sunday June 2, 2013, with a thanksgiving and award service as well as fund raising ceremony for a proposed N100 million hostel complex in the Diocese.
Also expected at the Synod are top oil and gas tycoons, Sir Emeka Offor and Mr Uche Oga as special guests of honour, Rt. Rev. Ephraim Ikeakor, Bishop of Diocese of Amichi, as guest preacher.
