An Anglican cleric has lamented the inability of Christians to allow the Holy Spirit to manifest in their lives despite God’s promise to pour His Spirit “upon all flesh and their sons and daughters shall prophesy, their old men shall dream dreams and their young men shall see vision”.
In his sermon at Emmanuel Church, Emii in Owerri North Local Government to mark the last Pentecost Sunday, Ven. Chidi Amadi, said it was a shame that in spite of their age and number of years spend in the church, that there has not been manifestations of the out-pouring of the Holy Spirit in the lives of many Christians.
Ven. Amadi who is the Archdeacon of Emii Archdeaconry explained that the mystery of Pentecost was for Christians to be filled with the gifts of the Holy Spirit at the end of each year’s Pentecost service.
Taking his text from the book of Acts 2: 37 – 38, Ven. Amadi posited that for Christians to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and their sins remitted, they must repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
