Owerri women group embarks on development projects

The Udo Diri Ndom Owerri group has embarked on development projects aimed at creating employment for the youths.

The President-General of the group, Mother Franca Akiyobi, disclosed this during the group’s August Home and Abroad Meeting this year.

Mother Akujobi paid glowing tribute to the past administration, under the leadership of Lady Comfort Mere, for acquiring land for the projects which included skills acquisition centre and agricultural projects.

She reminded the members of the need to team up and to be dedicated in order to achieve the group’s lofty goals.

“In no distant time, my administration would call on Owerri people and our friends to come and join us to raise funds for the foundation laying of the skills acquisition centre,” she said.

Akujobi said that her administration, which was hereby four months old as at then, was ready to carry out the groups’ programmes.

She also thanked the Traditional Ruler of Owerre Nchi-Ise, HRH, Eze Emmanuel Njemanze, for his blessings and support.

The president-general prayed for peace among the women and called for truth to prevail in their affairs.
