Widow builds Church for Oguta Community By Gid Ahanonu

Christians have been charged to put on the armour of God in their daily endeavour as a sign of being strong in the Lord.

This charge was made recently by the Bishop on the Lake, Rt. Rev. Chijioke Oti PhD (JP) at Nnebukwu in Oguta Local Government Area, Imo State, while performing the dedication ceremony of Mount Zion Anglican Church Building, Nnebukwu, built and donated to the Diocese by a widow.

Bishop Oti, observed that Christians need to be strong in the Lord to summount iniquities and social vices of this era as people commit sin with impunity in almost all the sectors without fear.  The preacher listed the armour of God as the belt of truth with Jesus Christ, righteousness, the gospel of truth, faith and salvation and the sword of the spirit.

He then urged Christians to abide by God’s word and do His will with total surrender to God so as to withstand the devil, warning that man’s anchor on occultic powers would always fail him.

The Prelate commended the donor for a perfect job she did within five months of the foundation ceremony and prayed God to encourage and strengthen her, including some other persons that are erecting one edifice or the other in the diocese.

The donor expressed gratitude to her children for their prayers towards the project. She also appreciated the Archdeacon, the evangelist and his wife for their joint efforts in seeing the project through.

She described the Bishop, Rt. Rev. Chijioke Oti as a true man of God whom God used in the procurement of the land for building the church through his prayers.
