Youths have called for the reelection of the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha, in 2015 to enable him complete his laudable projects in the state.
The leader of the Mbaitoli Youth Association, Comrade Aku Obidinma, who made the call during an interactive session at the Deputy Governor, Price Eze Madumere’s country home at Achi Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, said that the transformation and developmental projects of the present administration in all sectors in the state are unquantifiable.
Comrade Obidinma, who is also the personal assistant to the Deputy Governor on Political Matters, described the Deputy Governor as one who has the interest of the people, especially the youths, at heart and expressed joy over the turnout of the youths in support of the policy and programmes of the present administration.
He commended the youths for their composure both in the communities and the state and advised them as leaders of tomorrow to engage in meaningful activities that would be better their lives.
He told them to shun cultism, youth restiveness, kidnapping and other social vices that could tarnish their lives and the image of their locality, state and society at large.
Comrade Obidinma also revealed the preparedness of the youths to continue to support programmes and policies of the present administration.
In his speech also, the President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Mbaitoli Chapter, Comrade Uchenna Ojini, extolled the government of Imo State, led by Owelle Okorocha and Price Madumere, saying that the youths have benefitted from its rescue mission programmes. He advised youths to give their total support to them.
In his own remarks, the Community Government Council (CGC) youth leader, Comrade Ngozi Lawrence Dike, thanked Prince Madumere for ensuring development and peace in Mbaitoli and advised youths to beware of detractors who mislead youths for their selfish political interests.
Speaking, the former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Marcon Nlemigbo, who represented the Deputy Governor at the occasion, informed the youths that the Deputy Governor has more empowerment programmes for the youths.
He advised them to be of good behaviour and give their total support to the present administration.
