‘Customer’ vanishes with Aba trader’s new baby …Dispossessed mother in shock By Ken Douglas

Detectives in Abia State have intensified their manhunt for the gang that allegedly tricked a trader and stole her baby in the commercial city of Aba.

According to reports, the leader of the gang, said to be a middle-aged woman, had posed as a customer wanting to buy bags of pure water from the trader.

She reportedly gave the woman trader money that required her to be given some balance.

The unsuspecting trader left her child with the ‘customer’ to search for the balance only to return to discover that the customer and the baby had vanished.

Our investigation showed that it took passersby and other traders hours to calm the mother of the stolen baby as she raised alarm, yelling and rolling herself on the ground.

The incident happened at a shop at New Market area near the Enyimba Football Stadium Aba, it was reliably gathered.

Meanwhile, the search for the stolen child is in progress while the mother was said to have been in coma at Abia State University Hospital Aba as a result of the shock she had after the incident.
