The Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha has reassured the people of Mbaitoli of the determination of his administration to make Nworieubi one of the best cities in the country.
Governor Okorocha who gave this reassurance while addressing the people of Mbaitoli at the council headquarters during his project verification visit noted that Mbaitoli is a very large local government both in land mass and population and as such needs substantial projects that will touch on the lives of the people.
The governor who said that he will do his best to change Imo State, and touch people’s lives, enumerated all the government projects in the area, including road construction, model schools in each of the electoral wards, hospitals, free education etc. He noted that the four Millennium Development Goal (MDG) Schools and the roads from Nkworji-Orie Mbieri and Umudagu are additional government special projects to the people of Mbaitoli.
He advised the youths to be focused and committed and not to allow themselves be deceived or used by politicians who use them as their thugs during elections and dump them afterward. The governor urged the youths to participate in the Youth Must Work Programme of his administration; the concept which he said is to ensure that youths are gainfully employed.
The governor who commended his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere, a son of the area, saying that he is somebody that can be vouch for, also thanked other appointees from the area and the entire people of Mbaitoli for their support during the 2011 general election.
In his speech, the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere said that what is happening in Imo state in the areas of infrastructural development and others is what God has ordained and no man can stop it. He urged his people to embrace the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the rescue government of Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
Also speaking, the member representing Mbaitoli in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Ndulagu noted that the governor has surpassed others before him, while the chairman of the Imo State Council of traditional rulers HRH Eze Samuel A. Ohiri thanked the governor for giving sons and daughters of the area key positions in his administration.
One of the leaders in Mbaitoli, Chief Macellenus Nlemigbo said that the governor has sacrificed a lot to ensure that the state gets better and advised all to support him.
The transition committee chairman of the area, Dr. Pat I. Nnah, urged the people to support the dividends of democracy.
