Christian Fathers in the Anglican Diocese of Ikeduru have been commended for their great commitment in the things of God.
They were also charged to stand firm in a world that is riddled with sins and unmitigated vanities.
This commendation and charge was given by the Bishop of the Diocese, The Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Chigozie Maduwike JP, while presenting his presidential address during the just-concluded 3rd-biennial conference of the Anglican Christian Fathers’ Fellowship (ACFF) of the Diocese, at St. Simeon’s Anglican Church Ugirike, in the Ikeduru local government area of Imo State.
The prelate who expressed his delight at the level of infrastructural and spiritual development in the Diocese, thanked Christian Fathers for their untiring efforts. According to Bishop Maduwike, Christian Fathers have made great impact in their various church stations in the Diocese. He specifically thanked some fathers who single-handedly executed major projects in the Diocese.
He used the occasion to thank major contributors and donors like Chief E.C. Iwuanyanwu, Barr. D.C. Denwigwe (SAN), Sir Enoch Iwueze, Sir Chidi Ajoku, Sir (Dr) Uzoma Obiyo and many others for their untiring efforts and prayed to God to continue to uphold and reward them.
The Bishop reminded Christian Fathers that the church of God is today waging a fierce battle against the forces of darkness and urge them to take the whole armour of God in order to stand in this evil day.
He pleaded with Christian fathers to abstain from acts capable of ridiculing their God –given positions as family chief priests, and also to eschew such vices as drunkenness, class distinction, greed, oppression of subordinates, vain-glory, corruption and other immoral tendencies that constitute obstacles to Christian faith.
