It’s low-key Easter

Christians all over the world are today celebrating the Easter in commemoration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead after his crucifixion.

The annual event is regarded as the centrepoint of Christian faith which shows that through His death and resurrection Jesus paid the penalty for our sins, thus, purchasing for all who believe in Him, eternal life.

According to Dr. G. Campell Morgan, “The living risen Christ is the centre of the church’s creed, the creator of her character and the inspiration of her conduct”

Many communities and churches use the Easter period to organize special events and fund raising for projects.

Analysts predict a low-key Easter this year because of the intractable insurgency in the northern parts of the country and Abuja, orchestrated by the Muslim sect known as Boko Haram.

Easter came after Good Friday which is the day Jesus Christ was crucified.
