As a way of ensuring the spiritual growth of Knights, Ladies and Dames in the Diocese, the Bishop Diocese on the Lake, The Rt. Rev. Chijioke Oti has threatened to sanction all Knights, Ladies and Dames in the Diocese who are inactive. He said the list of those that would be suspended will be punished on June 8, 2014, describing Knighthood as a clarion call to serve God and mankind.
Bishop Oti who spoke at a retreat organized for knights-elect at St. Marks Anglican Church, Ejemekwuru, commended the Knights-elect for being consistent with the programme, insisting that it was not the number available but performance and active participation in diocesan programmes that matters.
He insisted that those to be axed would however be allowed to reply if they show remorse.
At the end of the retreat, the participants broke into groups during which they treated various religious topics and issues.
Later in a telephone interview, the President Council of Knights, Diocese on the Lake, Sir Uche Osoagba, affirmed that about 46 of his members are active out of a nominal roll of 106.
