The President General of the Joint Council of Knights (JCK), Owerri Ecclesiastical Province, Anglican Communion, Sir Israel Ekezie, last Tuesday, inaugurated a Think-Tank Committee for the JCK.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony which took place at the Boardroom of the Owerri Council of Knights Secretariat, Bishop’s Bourne Annex, Anglican Diocese of Owerri, the P.G charged the committee members who were drawn each from the 12 dioceses that make up the Owerri Ecclesiastical Province, to use their fertile hearts and minds to think out bright ideas that would help proffer solutions to many problems currently militating against the performance and growth of the Church, especially in the Owerri Province.
The PG who incidentally became the Chairman of the committee, urged the members to take their assignments seriously, and promised that the recommendations of the committee would be packaged and forwarded to the House of Bishops in the Province, for their consideration, possible assent, and implementation, to enable the church move forward in several desired areas such as education, economy, liturgy, inter-diocesan co-operation etc.
In a vote of thanks, on behalf of the committee, the President of the Council of Knights, Diocese of Egbu, Sir Johnson Oleru, who was also made a Co-chairman of the committee, expressed gratitude to the PG for making the task of the committee easier with the vital points he gave to them for a take-off.
The committee is expected to begin sitting in two weeks’ time.
