Biafra group disowns activist -For allegedly inciting violence

The Bilie Human Rights Initiative, (BHRI) a non-governmental organization in pursuit of the realization of the sovereign state of Biafra, has dissociated itself from the activities of Mr Nnamdi Kanu, one of the activists who, they alleged has been inciting people to violence.

A release signed by Dr. Dozie Ikedife, Deputy Chairman of the group, alleged that Kanu had threatened, through the internet and the Radio Biafra London, to kill supporters of a political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igboland whom he dubbed saboteurs to the Biafra cause.

The release stated that the members of their group were law abiding persons.

“We, the remnants of the people of Biafra under the leadership of the Supreme Council of Elders of Indigenous People of Biafra, are law-abiding and are in no way associated with any act of incitement to violence or lawlessness whatsoever and howsoever”, the release stated.

BHRI which filed a suit against the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Attorney-general of the federation over the recognition of Biafra as a sovereign state, alleged that Kanu and his supporters had planned to disrupt the 2015 election to obtain independence for Biafra and wage war on the federal government.

The BHRI, according to the release, as well as the elders and leaders of all indigenous people of Biafra, are presently seeking independence for Biafra by the rule of law.

It categorically stated that the official Radio station for all indigenous people of Biafra under the leadership of the Supreme Council of Elders is the voice of Biafra which can be found at, adding that Kanu and his supporters are not acting for Biafra.
