Archbishop speaks on collapsed building By Victor-Clark Alisigwe

Archbishop and Bishop of Orlu Anglican Diocese, Most Rev. Bennett C.I. Okoro Ph.D (JP) has condoned with the congregation of Our Saviours Anglican church Owerre-Ebeiri, over the collapse of their church building at Orlu Timbers Market in the Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.

Archbishop Okoro blamed the collapse on poor foundation but thanked God the building did not fall during service and so there was no casuality.

He advised the clergy and church committees to ensure that no church is built without authorization of the Orlu Diocesan Building Committee which is composed of qualified engineers.

Those who flout this order, he said, will be disciplined. He then called on parishioners and friends who are willing to assist this congregation financially to rebuild their church to do so.

According to him, it is an entirely new congregation built in a developing industrial area.
