All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and former interim state secretary of the party in Imo State, Hon. Chris Ogoma have extolled the spirit of sportsmanship exhibited by the APC candidate in the last governorship election in Ekiti State by conceding defeat to a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the election.
According to Hon. Ogoma, this single act is a plus for the country’s nascent democracy and worthy of emulation by all. He attributed the PDP’s success at the polls to its choice of a grassroots candidate and ardent performer, Ayo Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State who, like the present governor of Imo State. Owelle Rochas Okorocha is very popular among his people.
The former party scribe said that both the APC and its candidate, the incumbent governor of the State, His Excellency, Dr. Kayode Fayemi worked very hard to achieve victory, but politics being a game of number played otherwise, you win some, you loose some.
The party chieftain described Imo State as the stronghold of APC and promised that the party would field credible candidates who would sweep the polls in the subsequent elections.
He once more likened the governor-elect to Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas who is always aligned with the masses, especially the poor among them, who recently ate at one of the local restaurant in a village during one of his working visits.
He was served along-side other customers and he paid appropriately.
