School head donates trophy for Diocesan soccer

A veteran sports administrator and principal of Akabo High School, in the Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, Sir (Dr) Amos Agnamba, has donated a giant golden cup for effective sports competition among youths in the Anglican Diocese of Ikeduru.

The event took place at the Chapel of the Healing Cross, Bishop’s Court Atta, also in the Ikeduru Council.

Presenting the trophy to the Diocesan, the Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Chigoziem Maduwike JP, Dr. Agwamba said that sports being part of life would galvanize the youths into profitable venture and reduce the incidence of crime among them.

The sports veteran, who said that he is always saddened to see youths playing football on Sunday morning when they suppose to be in the church service, said that if the youths take part in the sports at the right time with one another, the society will be a better place for all.

The elated bishop Maduwike who have just returned from his annual vacation abroad thanked the donor for his kind gesture and promised that his Diocese would make effective use of the trophy.

Personalities who witnessed the official presentation include; the Bishop’s wife, Mrs Anuli Maduwike (Nnedinma Ikeduru). The Diocesan Youth Chaplain, Rev. Canon Charles Mgbemere and the Diocesan Anglican Youth Fellowhship (AYF) President, Brother Kelechi Chukwuoha.
